Here is our approach to modesty in a nutshell.

We are of the mind that the whole human body can be beautiful. So, you will find images here that range from PG-13 to images that the 1917 Paris policemen wouldn’t like either. Are some erotic? Maybe, that is up to you. What you will not find is anything sexual. These are depictions of individuals participating in the drama of everyday life — and that distinction lives less in the body than in the framing. A pose can invite a kind of looking; a candid moment generally doesn’t ask to be looked at that way at all. Some images here are posed. Many of the very best are candid, for exactly that reason.

None of this is static. Every image here can be rendered in any of three hundred styles, and the style changes the question as much as the framing does — a figure that reads one way in a stark, structural palette reads differently in something warmer or looser. We don’t pre-sort images into “safe” and “not safe” categories and stop there. We watch what gets favorited, built into galleries, given a home, and we let that tell us what belongs. The collection grows by attention, not by decree.
